The function model differs: Vercel ships Node Lambdas (full Node compatibility, slower cold start). Netlify Edge ships Deno on V8 isolates (faster TTFB, restricted runtime). If your code uses Sharp, Puppeteer, or any native binary, Vercel is the easier path.
Build minutes are where most projects feel the squeeze first. 300 minutes a month is 50-75 deploys for a 4-minute build. Vercel's 6,000 effectively means you never think about it.
